Qwest Announces Resignation of W. Thomas Stephens as Qwest Director
HostReview.com DENVER, July 14, 2004 — Qwest Communications International Inc. (NYSE: Q) announced the resignation of W. Thomas Stephens as a director of the company, effective July 9. Mr. Stephens, former president, CEO and a director of MacMillan Bloedel Limited, had been a director of Qwest since 1997. Mr. Stephens served as CEO of MacMillan Bloedel Limited from 1996 to1999. From 1986 until his retirement in 1996, he served as president and CEO of Manville Corporation and as a member of Manville’s board of directors. He was chairman of the board from 1990 to 1996. Mr. Stephens is also a director of Trans Canada Pipelines, NorskeCanada (formerly Norske Skog Canada Ltd.), The Putnam Funds and Xcel Energy Inc.
