SUN Microsystems Invites To Vintage Computer Festival

July 14, 2004 – (HostReview.com) - This week at its Burlington campus, Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq: SUNW) is hosting Vintage Computer Festival (VCF) East 2.0, an international event that celebrates the history of computing. The mission of VCF is to promote the preservation of 'obsolete' computers by offering attendees a chance to experience the technologies, people and stories that embody the computing revolution.

On Friday and Saturday, July 16-17, 2004, the press is invited to view the vintage collections exhibited by computing enthusiasts and to sit in on the presentations that will be given on a variety of topics. Friday's speaking agenda will feature Sun executives discussing SIMH, the Computer History Simulation Project aimed at preserving computing's heritage by simulating systems of historic interest; and the emerging utility model for today's computing systems, juxtaposing the past with the future.
