IBM Server Business Suite Reaches Customer Milestone

Jun 25, 2004 – (HostReview.com) - IBM announced today the 2000th customer installation of the mySAP(TM) Business Suite family of business solutions on the IBM eServer iSeries platform with Esquire. In the last three years, the number of SAP® solution-based installations on the iSeries server has doubled from 1,000 to 2,000 installations. IBM registered the rapid adoption by customers of SAP's enterprise business applications on IBM eServer iSeries servers as a significant growth.

"The rapid growth of SAP solutions on the iSeries platform in the last three years is a testament that customers are finding value in the iSeries attributes of a highly reliable and secure environment that is easy to manage," said Al Zollar, general manager for IBM eServer iSeries. The integration of the applications onto the iSeries platform helps customers to simplify their IT environment and reduce their overall IT costs.

Esquire, the leading fashion distributor with high end brands such as Guy Laroche and Jordache is using the IBM eServer iSeries Model i825 and i870 to power its implementation of mySAP Business Suite. The implementation provides help in supporting of 600 users for its retail and point of sales operations. "In the short time we have had this system, we have already seen cost benefits and increased performance saving us valuable time and resources.", said Jae-Beom Kim, CIO of Esquire.

IBM customer, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. one of the world's largest hotel and leisure companies, recently upgraded to the iSeries Model 890 to power its SAP financials application. The iSeries platform serves to Starwood’s backoffice operations. Implementing the new system, Starwood can provide payroll services for over 50,000 employees.
