Terremark Announces New Customers and Expansions of Existing Customers At NAP Of the Americas; Increased Peering Traffic Continues to Attract Content Providers

MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 27, 2004--Terremark Worldwide, Inc. (AMEX:TWW), a leading operator of integrated Tier-1 Network Access Points (NAPs) and best-in-class network services, announced today that it has signed contracts with new customers and existing customers to expand their relationship with the NAP of the Americas. The new customers include Akamai, ICE (Instituto Costaricense de Electricidad), MetroRed Mexico and Telemar.

Akamai(R) is a global leader in distributed computing solutions and services, headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Akamai's deployment at the NAP of the Americas will enhance their content distribution peering. ICE (Instituto Costaricense de Electricidad), the telecommunications incumbent in Costa Rica, MetroRED Mexico, a leading facilities based metropolitan telecom provider serving more than 300 of Mexico City's top business complexes, and Telemar, the telecommunications incumbent in Northern Brazil, each will use the NAP of the Americas as its international connectivity gateway to the rest of the world.

These new customers join the virtual marketplace of carriers, enterprises, public entities and other service providers who use Terremark's NAP of the Americas to do business with their customers and each other in a facility that offers the level of security, reliability and neutral connectivity demanded by the industry. The NAP of the Americas currently has over 155 customers deployed in its facility.

Among the existing customers that have contracted for additional services and not requested that their expansion be treated as confidential are Comsat Argentina, Diveo, Emergia, Global Crossing, Hostopia and Navega.com. A representative list of all TWW customers can be found on www.terremark.com.
