Englewood, Colo., May 21, 2004 - Verio, a subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation and a leader in global IP solutions, today announced that Courtroom Connect, a leading provider of high-speed Internet access, printing and remote real-time transcripts to courtrooms has expanded its solution delivery with NTT/VERIO network and hosting services. Verio will provide Courtroom Connect with hosting services and enhanced Internet connectivity through the NTT/VERIO Global IP Network, to help power the company's wireless network offerings to courthouses across the country.

By partnering with courts and other legal service organizations, Courtroom Connect is able to install high-speed wireless local area networks in courthouses. Wireless Fidelity or Wi-Fi™ technology allows courtroom employees, attorneys, jurors and members of the public and the media to securely connect to their office networks, access the Internet for research purposes and send and receive email with attachments. These users can also take advantage of the connectivity to instant message coworkers and download files and print documents to a dedicated network printer. In certain locations, users can also view real-time transcripts over the Courtroom Connect wireless network.

Courtroom Connect currently hosts its high-end wireless offerings in NTT/VERIO data centers. A networking solution comprised of both Ethernet connectivity - burstable from two to 20 Mbps - and a series of T1 connections is designed to accommodate spikes in usage that occur with larger trials, and ensures that end-users always experience fast and reliable Internet connections via Courtroom Connect's local wireless networks.

Louis Goldberg, president of Courtroom Connect, explained that this type of network connectivity from a Tier One provider is an integral part of the business, and allows the company to service such high-profile trials as the recent Rosie O'Donnell and Tyco trials.

“Connectivity is the bedrock of everything we do. There are literally billions of dollars at stake during litigation, and the attorneys we are servicing require a stable connection,” said Goldberg. “A poorly performing Internet connection could potentially cost us thousands of dollars in business. In our efforts to provide first-rate services to our clients, Verio not only met our stringent service and performance level requirements, but understood our business needs and how those could expand in the future.”

Courtroom Connect currently provides permanent wireless connectivity to 21 courthouses nationwide, including courthouses in California, Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, with temporary service being offered in a number of additional courthouses nationwide for the duration of specific trials, and at the request of trial teams. Approximately 50 top law firms have used Courtroom Connect to receive wireless connectivity services while in court.

“In order to adequately serve the demanding requirements of trial attorneys, as well as others in the courtroom, Courtroom Connect realized the necessity of a Tier One provider to offer a high level of wireless service,” said James Treuting, president of Network Services at Verio. “A comprehensive NTT/VERIO network services and hosting solution allows Courtroom Connect to give its end-users access to a premium wireless service.”
