FORT WORTH, Texas-FEBRUARY 24, 2004 -- Bombay Company announced today it has selected AT&T to design and manage an integrated networking solution supporting its more than 300 stores in the United States.

Bombay, a global retailer specializing in furniture and home accessories, awarded AT&T a $5.4 million, three-year contract to update, integrate and manage the company's information technology platform, including data and voice communications. This is AT&T's first major contract with Bombay, which previously purchased most of its telecommunications services from WorldCom.

AT&T will deploy a Managed Frame Relay Service solution, offering secure, high-speed online access that will enable Bombay to improve customer service, enhance supplier relationships and reduce costs. The network will enable Bombay to gather and analyze customer-buying patterns, identify sales trends, track in-store sales and monitor inventory levels in real time. The information will help the company make timely business decisions on ordering, product distribution and inventory levels -- while improving profitability.

Bombay's customers will enjoy a faster checkout process and the ability to quickly and easily check product availability at other Bombay stores.

"AT&T and Simplify Telecom addressed all our needs with an integrated solution that provides flexibility, supports our needs today and will help us grow tomorrow," said Donna Arnold, Bombay vice president of Information Services. "Migrating to AT&T's integrated solution from a dial-up network will bring us closer to our customers and help reduce costs."

Simplify Telcom Solutions, an AT&T Alliance Channel agent, helped close the deal. Alliance Channel agents complement and enhance AT&T's capabilities with specialized skills in network design and deployment, applications integration and communications equipment expertise.
