Samsung Austin Semiconductor Chooses Texas.net to Povide Managed Iinternet Services
HostReview.com AUSTIN, Texas - November 18th, 2003 - Texas.Net today announced the return of Samsung Austin Semiconductor L.P. as a customer in its expanding corporate client base. Samsung, a leading maker of memory chips for computers, servers and related applications, has chosen Texas.Net to support its Internet connectivity needs with high-bandwidth managed Internet services. "Having Texas.Net provide our Internet connectivity is what it means to have peace of mind. We tried another, lower cost Internet service provider, but came back to Texas.Net for two simple reasons: system reliability and outstanding customer service," said Mike Krzywonski, senior network analyst at Samsung Austin Semiconductor. "Even though we're part of the global Samsung family, it just so happens that the best possible business ISP for us is located right here in Austin." Samsung Austin is a unit of Samsung Electronics, the $60-billion Korean high-tech giant, and is one of the few semiconductor fabs that are expanding operations in the Austin region. Texas.Net is providing Samsung with multi-megabit NxT1 (multiple T1s) service, which provides scalability, reliability and more than doubles the company's Internet bandwidth capacity. The service will enable Samsung to carry out day-to-day business, such as e-mail and video conferencing, while supporting high-bandwidth activities, such as online semiconductor process training and the remote troubleshooting of chip manufacturing tool performance. "More and more customers tell us that their Internet connectivity has become a mission critical aspect of their day-to-day business operations. We've understood this from day one; it's the very reason we built our network for redundancy and 100 percent availability," said Jonah Yokubaitis, CEO and co-founder of Texas.Net. "Such reliability means companies like Samsung don't have to deal with Internet outages or performance issues, and can stay focused on the important issues that directly impact their business."
