Stephen Scott Named New Managing Director of NaviSite Europe

 


Hosting specialist adds experienced leadership to spearhead growth into Europe

November 10, 2003 - NaviSite Europe Limited has announced that it has appointed industry expert Stephen Scott to serve as the new Managing Director. Scott joins the company from PSINet UK, where he served also as Managing Director. Scott will oversee European operations from NaviSite Europe's London headquarters.

Scott brings significant experience in the managed services industry to NaviSite, having held the position of European Vice President with service providers Global Switch and Keybridge. There he gained invaluable experience working with NaviSite Inc., Chairman, Andy Ruhan, and Chief Operating Officer, Gabriel Ruhan.

Throughout his career, Scott has held various leadership positions in the IT and software industries and is a veteran of the Royal Navy.

"I see that the opportunity for NaviSite Europe to expand its base here in the UK and grow steadily into Europe is tremendous," Scott commented. Stephen Scott is responsible for all aspects of NaviSite's business in Europe, reporting directly to the corporate COO in Andover, MA. Stephen has more than 12 years experience in business management, many of which included senior international roles setting up new companies. Immediately prior to his current role at NaviSite Europe, Stephen had been working as the UK Managing Director of PSINet Europe. During his 18 months at PSINet Europe, Stephen helped turn the $100m business from significant EBITDA losses to EBITDA profit.

Prior to that, Stephen had spent nine years specialising in creating and establishing start up companies in Europe, the US and Japan for a range of organisations including, ClearBlue Technologies, Global Switch and Cham. Stephen's roles included sales responsibilities as well as business development and management. Prior to that, Stephen had spent nearly 12 years in a variety of engineering roles, including a career in the Royal Navy as an Air Engineering Officer that took him to the Falkland Islands during that conflict.
