SEOHost.Net Principal: Google Analytics Redesign Shows Ongoing Trend In Search

09:22:20 - 28 October 2020

Terry Cane, COO of SEOHost.net, discusses the new Google Analytics console, which is focused on integration and the overall customer journey.

ORLANDO, Fla. (PRWEB)October 28, 2020 - Terry Cane, COO of SEOHost.net (https://www.seohost.net), a leading domain registration, SSL service, and SEO hosting provider, believes the Google Analytics redesign, unveiled earlier this month, was a long time coming.

The day before Search On, a virtual conference hosted by Google to discuss the latest changes and improvements to its search engine, the company released a major redesign of the Google Analytics platform. This updated version utilizes machine learning in an effort to eliminate gaps in data created as a result of users moving between apps, websites, and devices. Rather than focusing on what a user does when they visit an individual web page, the new Google Analytics is focused on the user themself —something which, per Cane, aligns directly with current search trends.

"We've been seeing this shift happening for quite a while already," she said. "Success in search engine marketing today is less about keywords and technical SEO than it is about understanding your audience. Who they are, what they're searching for, and why their search has brought them to you."

"The redesign of Google Analytics is simply another step in that direction," she said. "It aims to use predictive analytics to give marketing professionals a more complete picture of who their audience is. One significant benefit of this is that this understanding can be created without requiring as much access to user data. In other words, marketing professionals can understand more about their audience whilst still prioritizing user privacy," Cane said. "It's a significant and incredibly valuable change, and as noted by Google, it's the first of many."

Moving forward, Google intends to gradually release more features for the redesign. It's currently working on a beta of Analytics 360, which will offer advanced integration with data warehousing platforms like BigQuery. In a blog post on the subject, the company recommended that for now, marketers keep their current installation of Analytics and set up a new property on the redesign so the two can be used simultaneously.
