TeamViewer Adds Unattended Android Access To IBM MaaS360 With Watson Integration

09:27:29 - 15 August 2018

IT Administrators can now remotely access and control unattended Android kiosks, handheld devices, digital signage, and more at any time, from anywhere

TAMPA, Fla. (PRWEB)August 15, 2018 - TeamViewer®, a leading global software provider for IoT, connectivity, monitoring, support and team collaboration, today announced that it has expanded TeamViewer integration for IBM MaaS360 with Watson to support secure unattended access, allowing administrators to configure permanent access to remote Android devices without requiring any end user intervention. MaaS360 administrators can deploy TeamViewer by adding the Host app to the Catalog from the Google Play Store and distribute to their end-point devices. Administrators can trial TeamViewer software free for 30 days and any required licenses can be purchased directly through IBM sales representatives.

With Watson, MaaS360 provides an AI/cognitive approach to unified endpoint management (UEM) and security to enable endpoints, end-users, and everything in between. Once TeamViewer is added as the remote assistance tool within MaaS360, IT administrators can remotely access and control the devices they are responsible for managing. Supported operating systems (OS) include iOS, macOS, Android, Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10, with plans to support unattended Windows 10 devices later this year. With this release, unattended Android devices are now supported. While unattended access can be used to remotely access or control unmanned devices, on-demand, attended access leverages approvals from the user of the device for remote access or control and helps in swiftly identifying and resolving problems.

Organizations around the globe use MaaS360 to manage tens of millions of devices. Among them are a significant number of kiosk devices that have to be managed and updated frequently. TeamViewer Remote Support for MaaS360 helps instantly diagnose and fix a problem on these unattended devices, saving a trip to the physical machine.

From within the MaaS360 management console, administrators can initiate a remote support action with a single click. On attended devices, end-users accept the request to spin up a secure remote troubleshooting session with the administrator. When using the new unattended access feature, administrators can initiate a secure, over-the-air (OTA) support action on Android kiosk devices without user intervention. With this, information, ticketing, check-in, point-of-sale (POS), digital signage, lockers, and hand-held devices can be accessed at any time, from anywhere and issues can be resolved in a time- and cost-effective manner.

“We are excited to launch this new release with IBM as this will enable customers to remotely manage and reduce downtime of kiosks, digital devices and other Android based devices running unattended,” says Alfredo Patron, VP of Business Development at TeamViewer. “We look forward to continued innovation with IBM and bringing other solutions to the market.”
