Linode Fortifies Its Managed Service With CPanel & WHM Partnership

04:24:57 - 01 October 2014

Galloway, NJ (PRWEB) - Since its launch in 2012, cloud-host Linode’s well-received Managed service has provided in-depth system monitoring, swift incident response, accurate system metrics and failsafe data preservation for its customers.

Today, Linode has bundled into its Managed service three more valuable features without adding cost.

With a minimum three-month commitment to Managed, customers now get installation and use of cPanel &WHM - the world’s most popular control-panel software. In addition, Managed customers can recruit Linode’s expert customer support team to perform free-of-charge site migrations. And Managed customers can mobilize Linode’s Professional Services to perform sysAdmin tasks at a 20-percent discount.

“We’re constantly assessing the services we offer our customers,” said CEO Christopher S. Aker. “At the same time, we work hard behind the scenes to find ways to add value to existing products. With our August introduction of Professional Services and new partnership with cPanel, we are confident that existing and prospective customers will recognize and harness the added value of our Managed service.”

cPanel & WHM provide an easy-to-use graphical interface that allows practically anyone —- from skilled programmer to everyday business person — to manage email, databases, applications, security and FTP. This ease-of-use makes it an especially powerful solution for anyone with limited technical resources.

“We feel the cPanel upgrade — exclusive to our Managed customers — alone makes managing a website even easier,” explained Stephen Clemens, Linode’s Vice President in charge of Customer Support. “You get the most popular GUI in addition to simplified management for no cost.”

Aaron Phillips, Chief Business Officer of cPanel, stated, “cPanel and Linode have been supporters of The Perl Foundation for many years and this partnership is very exciting for us. We are looking forward to a long relationship with Linode and customers that choose cPanel & WHM.”

Aker agreed, “This joint venture between cPanel and Linode is a win all around.”

For Managed customers looking to transfer an existing site(s) to Linode from another cloud host, Linode’s team will perform standard site migrations free of charge. By assuming the risk and the cost of site migrations, Linode eliminates a hurdle common to website owners wanting - but hesitant - to move.

Lastly, Managed customers will now be eligible for a 20-percent discount off the $100-per-hour rate for Linode’s Professional Services, a feature launched this past August. For $80 per hour, this “sysAdmin-for-hire” team installs servers, deploys control panels, configures specialized website infrastructure and performs other, similar one-off tasks to help customers build and maintain their Linodes more efficiently and sturdily.

“It’s just really a good deal,” added Clemens. “cPanel carte blanche. Cost-free, risk-free site migration. And a hefty discount toward sysAdmin help. The benefit of becoming a Linode Managed customer has never been more evident.”

This upgrade to its Managed service continues Linode’s tradition of giving more value to the customer without levying more cost. In a competitive cloud-hosting marketplace, Linode’s enhanced Managed service delivers to current and prospective customers the biggest bang for their cloud-hosting buck.
