Dedicated Server provider Hivelocity (www.hivelocity.net) has wasted no time in launching an ad campaign going after refugees of down and out hosting companies. Coinciding with today’s announcement by AlphaRed of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy filing, Hivelocity already has banners inviting “hosting castaways” to come over to their data center.
Hivelocity’s trend of sharp aggressive marketing continues with this new “castaway” campaign. With a picture of the, now famous Wilson volley ball from Tom Hank’s Hollywood blockbuster, asking you to “not be castaway by your host”, Hivelocity is once again inducing a chuckle while attracting new business. Similar to the innuendo of the “Viva Hivelocity” campaign, reported on last week, the timing of this new campaign shows Hivelocity is not afraid to push the envelope.
“We definitely keep an eye on the competition and try to capitalize when they stumble. It’s unfortunate one of our competitors has left a lot of people scurrying to find a new home for their dedicated server, especially at this time of year. We only want to let these people know, while-be-it aggressively, they have a data center willing to help them out in their time of need,” says Hivelocity General Manager Steve Eschweiler.
As part of the campaign, Hivelocity offers data migration assistance to any person currently hosted by a fledgling data center.
