HOUSTON, Oct. 1, 2008 – The Planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today announced discounts on its dedicated private racks, a complex hosting solution for multi-server environments. Beginning today and through Oct. 30, 2008, the first month of service is free for new orders.
The Planet’s dedicated private racks are ideal for larger environments that require the ability to grow rapidly. With Gigabit networking, high-performance SAN solutions, and advanced load balancing and security options, private rack customers can have complete flexibility in their hosted solution.
“As customers grow their businesses and require more complex hosting solutions, they’re looking for greater flexibility for managing their IT infrastructures, while maintaining full control of the environment,” said Urvish Vashi, The Planet’s general manager for dedicated servers. “Our fully scalable private racks provide advanced capabilities so customers can select the servers, dedicated load balancers and firewalls, along with dedicated storage area networks.”
The company also announced plans to lower prices on select servers by up to 44 percent. Through Oct. 12, 2008, the Celeron 2.0 is priced at $69 per month, down from $89. The Ready To Go Dual Xeon 2.8 – provisioned in just one hour – is now $145 per month, a savings of more than $100. Planet Alpha Data Protection Servers, offering low-cost protection for large data sets, are now priced at $249 for 500GB of storage and $429 for 1.5TB of storage, each discounted more than 10 percent.
Double Down Select also begins today, offering customers the choice to double RAM, hard disk space or bandwidth for free on new orders of the Pentium4. 2.4 or the Dual Xeon 5405. The promotion is good through Oct. 12, 2008.
