These changes are part of the company's Optimized Computing initiative announced in December, and its cornerstone the Parallels Open Platform which brings together desktop and server virtualization plus system and business automation assets in conjunction with a rapidly-expanding ecosystem of partner solutions for use in on-premise, hosted and software-as-a-service (SaaS) usage models.
Earlier this month, the company made available the beta version of Parallels Server, its hypervisor-powered server virtualization solution, as a complement to its Parallels Virtuozzo Containers 4.0 operating system (OS) server virtualization software made generally available today.
