Hosting.com, Inc., a leading provider of managed web hosting and colocation services, announced that it has launched a holiday promotion to benefit children of developing countries. Working in conjunction with the non-profit group One Laptop per Child (OLPC), Hosting.com will donate the funds necessary to delivery one Laptop to a child for every server the company sells during November and December.

Guided by the mission to “ensure all school-aged children in the developing world are able to engage effectively with their own personal laptop networked to the world,” OLPC provides children specially designed XO Laptops. The XO Laptop contains a wireless router, can be re-charged by human power, is the size of a textbook, weighs less than a lunch box, and was designed to be highly durable. Current countries participating in the program include Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Central America, Ethiopia, Libya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Pakistan, and Thailand.

"As a high-tech company with clients all over the world we realize the value of ensuring all parts of the world have access to the latest in technological advancements. It is through efforts like OLPC that we can help spread the culture of learning through technology to even the most remote corners of the world," stated Darren King, Hosting.com President and CEO.

Every $200 donation to OLPC pays for and delivers one XO Laptop. Through this holiday promotion, Hosting.com anticipates donating at a minimum $10,000 or 50 XO Laptops.
