Mimosa Systems^™, a leader in live content archiving solutions, today announced that Palm Beach County in the state of Florida has selected the Mimosa Systems advanced archiving solution, Mimosa™ NearPoint™ for Microsoft® Exchange Server, to manage 7,200 email accounts throughout local government offices. Ranked one of the top ten fastest growing counties in the nation[1], Palm Beach County selected Mimosa NearPoint following a pilot deployment of its archiving solution in competition with three other vendors.  Email archiving is an important component of the County’s project to standardize on Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange. 

Palm Beach County has a population of more than 1.25 million residents with growth expected in the double-digits over the next decade. With such growth comes greater demand on governmental resources and Palm Beach County is modernizing its infrastructure to meet increasing growth. As a result, the County is migrating away from Novell GroupWise to Microsoft Exchange 2007 with Mimosa NearPoint archiving fully integrated, which will provide efficient long-term retention of information. Because Florida’s Sunshine Law gives citizens the legal right to request copies of all public records, including email, the County must retain all documents indefinitely.
