Web hosting provider Hosted Solutions has hired Rob Richards as its Boston Data centers Facilities Manager. As Facilities Manager, Richards will be responsible for all physical facilities infrastructure and standards to ensure that all equipment and support systems are in a high state of readiness at all times. Richards will also be accountable for organizing, planning, coordinating and directing the maintenance functions of the entire operation.

Prior to joining Hosted Solutions, Richards served as the Physical Plant Engineer and Outside Plant Project Manager for Global NAPs Inc., where he became proficient in the installation of primary and secondary AC and DC power systems in a colocation environment. Richards supervised the training and installation of the company’s fiber optic cable infrastructure. He was also responsible for the installation, provisioning and maintenance of all aspects of the company’s telecommunication infrastructure and equipment.

Richards received formal training from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He also attended the Basic Electricity and Electronics School of the United States Marine Corps.
