Three of the world's leading Internet Exchange Points (IXPs), AMS-IX, DE-CIX and LINX, are hosting the first ever European Peering Forum on the 29th and 30th of November 2006 in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Sponsored by Foundry Networks and IXEurope, this unique event is designed to bring together more than 150 individuals from the respective IXP member organisations to discuss all aspects of peering from negotiating to operations. 

Peering is a cost neutral arrangement between two Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to exchange Internet traffic. It is undertaken to reduce costs and provide more direct routing of that traffic. 

Attendees of the event will be treated to a packed agenda with many topics of interest to those present over the two days. 

Many leading Industry players will be making presentations to the peering community including Martin McDermott, of Cable & Wireless who will cover the European peering landscape and Jan Paul Dekker of RTL who will talk about peering experiences from a broadcasters perspective and why it makes sense.

Day two features in depth presentations on ISP system and Route Server developments, the Television without Frontiers EU directive, content delivery, 10GE experiences and operational issues. Serge Radovcic of Euro-IX will also provide an update on European market statistics.
