Virtualprivateservers.ca VPS service is exclusively run using XenTM Powered paravirtualization technology which is an open-source virtual machine monitor, or hypervisor, developed by the University of Cambridge. Xen technology provides secure isolation, resource control, quality-of-service guarantees, and live migration of VPS servers. XPC Technology Services currently uses Xen3.0 and is a beta tester of the Xen Enterprise software. We will be migrating all of our VPS systems to Xen enterprise upon its final production release slated for Sept 2006.
“Prior to launching our new VPS offering we researched a number of opensource and commercial VPS hosting products and in our opinion we feel that Xen is a better choice, financially, technically and it gives us an opportunity to support the open source community,” says President Shone Anstey. “We are quite impressed with Xen's use of a technique called paravirtualization to achieve high scalability with near bare metal performance. As such we will be using XenTM Powered software exclusively through out our VPS hosting line up.”
“XenSource is very pleased XPC has chosen the Xen(TM) hypervisor to power the new hosting platform,” said John Bara, XenSource VP of marketing. "Together, XPC and the Xen hypervisor offer a virtualization solution with benefits of high performance and security as an affordable, accessible service.”
