AT&T announced it has completed implementation of a global Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IP VPN) for Takasago International Corp. The VPN connects the Yokohama Data Center in Japan with locations in the United States, Germany, France and Singapore.

Takasago is a world-leading fragrance research and development company with presence in 22 countries worldwide. The company has recently introduced enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and will use the VPN to exchange research, manufacturing, and sales information on natural, synthetic, and blended fragrances in order to respond to market needs.

“Fragrances are said to be a barometer of culture,” says Shinichi Wachi, director, Information Systems Division of Takasago International. “We operate our global research and development, manufacturing, and sales organizations to meet global fragrance needs.”

“One of AT&T’s key strengths is the ability to provide seamless support around the world. We can contribute to higher network efficiency overseas for global Japanese companies such as Takasago International,” says Norihiko Minato, president of AT&T Japan.

AT&T’s VPN services use Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) technology and provide a high-quality and secure communications environment for the mission-critical networks of companies that engage in global business.

The network also incorporates AT&T’s integrated Global Enterprise Management System (iGEMS) to provide support for the global business activities of AT&T customers.
