TeleCity (www.telecity.com), an European provider of data center and managed services, today announced that it has been awarded ‘Best practice in network and infrastructure security’, in a new research report from the Aberdeen Group.
The report, ‘Best Practices in Security: Network and Infrastructure’, looked at security threats and trends in the enterprise and reviewed more than 70 security programs designed to improve procedures to verify the sanctity of interconnected networks, systems, applications, and underlying data in securing networks and information.
TeleCity was identified as one of eight enterprise winners demonstrating best practices for secure networks and infrastructure, with Fortinet its solution provider.
The company has deployed patch management systems, server-based antivirus software, denial of service attack prevention, vulnerability management capabilities, and new security capabilities from Fortinet that detect and eliminate Internet content threats from email and web traffic, including viruses, worms, spyware, and software script attacks among others. These elements serve to protect TeleCity’s customers, its customer data and systems, as well as its own networks and systems.
Rick Hudson, TeleCity CEO, said: “We are delighted to win this Aberdeen Group award, which demonstrates our commitment to providing the highest levels of network and infrastructure security. Only a few years ago TeleCity would regularly experience hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of internet security events a day. Now, with the Fortinet solution in place, the impact of events has been reduced to almost zero, enabling us to focus on enhancing data center and managed services for customers.”
