MonsterHosting.ca, a Canadian web hosting and e-commerce solutions provider, announced today that it has launched a one of a kind remote website monitoring service, known as dotUPTIME.

The new service, (www.dotuptime.com) allows resellers and individual website owners to monitor their website’s uptime, via either a web tool or a downloadable software application. If downtime is detected, alerts can be sent out via email and/or SMS text message.

The online version sends out weekly and monthly statistics reports which provide an overview of the services uptime for that time period.

“What we have created is going to save a lot of people a lot of headaches, and let site owners focus on selling instead of worrying if there site is down,” said MonsterHosting.ca Sales and Marketing Manager, Gary Jones.

MonsterHosting.ca initially designed the new dotUPTIME service as a tool for its existing customers, but quickly saw the need to expand it. In August 2005, the company released the home edition, allowing users to monitor a list of websites on their own PC.

dotUPTIME monitors all vital services, including HTTP, HTTPS, SMTP, POP, IMAP, and FTP.

The service is free for domain monitoring at 20 minute intervals. For shorter time periods or for the home version of the product, small fees apply.
