CommentsSan Diego - July 27, 2005 – Nine Systems today announced that John Watson has been appointed Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing to lead Nine Systems' global expansion and to help increase sales and awareness of its industry-first Network of Networks content delivery platform and rich media management applications. Mr. Watson will report to Troy Snyder, President and CEO, Nine Systems.
Mr. Watson brings over 10 years of international web hosting and streaming media software sales experience to Nine Systems. Until recently, Mr. Watson served as Vice-President of Business Development for TWI Interactive, the digital media and technology arm of IMG, the world's premier sports & entertainment marketing and management agency and TWI, the largest independent producer and distributor of sports programming. In this capacity he led various development initiatives with organizations such as HP and MCI, which included the recent sale of TWI's Interactive Content Factory to MCI. Watson also served as Vice-President of Hosting Operations where he built the TWI interactive Hosting group to service the web hosting, broadband, WAP, SMS and MMS requirements of its roster of over 50 high-profile clients on four continents including the European PGA tour, Manchester United, O2, the Open Championship, Tiger Woods, and Wimbledon.
Prior to joining TWI Interactive, Watson held various business development and product management roles at PSINet where he was instrumental in launching the managed web hosting business and responsible for building revenue enhancing strategic partnerships. Watson holds a BA from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MBA from the College of William and Mary. He is married with two children and lives in Northern VA.
