New Service Gives Users Direct Server Access

00:00:00 - 20 August 2004

August 20, 2004 | Houston, Texas - EV1Servers this week began offering an on-demand KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) over IP service that gives customers desktop-like access to their servers. Available for daily rental, the remote control system allows a user to view and manage his server's contents using his monitor and keyboard.

EV1Servers believes that it is the only dedicated hosting provider that currently offers the KVM over IP service. The company also offers dedicated KVM units to customers who lease private racks at its data center. According to Robert Marsh, EV1Servers' CEO and Head Surfer, "the on-demand service will give each and every customer access when needed to a very convenient tool. It's part of our ongoing effort to optimize our customers' hosting experience."

Houston-based EV1Servers operates two telco grade data centers with over 100,000 square feet of web hosting space. The company manages over 20,000 Windows and Linux dedicated servers that power over 1 million website. The EV1 Network is connected to the Internet through 18 Gigabit Ethernet links from 6 backbone providers. It accounts for over 1.5% of all US Internet traffic. The company servers an additional 120,000 users through its discount domain registration and SSL certificates offerings.

EV1Servers is a subsidiary of Everyones Internet. The company recently won the top spot in Houston Business Journal's 2004 Small Business 100 Awards. In addition, CEO and Head Surfer Robert Marsh was named Houston Small Business Person of the Year by the US Small Business Administration, and Houston/Gulf Coast Area Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young.
