Jun 29, 2004 – (HostReview.com) - Sun Java System Application Server and Sun Java System Portal Server Users Can Now Benefit from VERITAS i3 Software's Capability to Diagnose and Resolve Problems Across All Application Tiers. VERITAS Software Corporation (www.veritas.com) and Sun Microsystems, Inc. (www.sun.com) today broadened their long-standing alliance.

"Since its inception, the Java Enterprise System's revolutionary approach to infrastructure software has helped eradicate complexity from enterprise software procurement and management," said John Loiacono, executive vice president, software, Sun Microsystems, Inc.

The VERITAS i3(TM) application performance management (APM) software now will support the Sun Java(TM) Enterprise System. The integration will support key capabilities for organizations working to adopt a utility computing model.

"A growing number of companies are literally running their businesses on J2EE environments, such as those built on the Java System Application Server and Java System Portal Server," said Kris Hagerman, executive vice president, strategic operations, VERITAS Software.

Meeting service level requirements on a shared, automated infrastructure is regarded as a core component of VERITAS' utility computing strategy. The integration will enable deeper visibility into the performance of Java(TM) 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE(TM)) applications. The integration is expected to deliver faster application response times, and more predictable application service levels.
