Offersnew channel partner access to online library of trialware software

MINNEAPOLIS, January 26, 2004-- Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing, today announced that it signed an e-commerce agreement with Computerworld, adding the industry-leading content publisher to its growing trialware channel. Based on the e-commerce agreement, Digital River will build and launch a private-label, try-before-you-buy (TBYB) e-commerce site to provide the publisher and its customers access to Digital River's library of trialware software. Digital River's trialware library, which represents a collection of TBYB software titles from small and large publishers, features computer utilities, games, and business, graphic and Internet applications.

For easy-access, the soon-to-be-launched trialware store will be located via a link on Computerworld's Internet site. Customers can access the new trialware site for Computerworld at www.computerworld.com .

“Our multi-channel e-commerce network continues to attract industry-leaders and expand in size and reputation,” said Joel Ronning, Digital River's CEO. “Adding Computerworld to our trialware channel is a testament to the strength of the e-commerce offering we have built over the years.

“Because of the solid network of relationships that Digital River has established with not only thousands of software publishers and authors, but also content publishers, portal sites and online retailers, we are in a unique position to help these groups forge mutually beneficial channel partnerships that would be difficult for them to establish on their own,” continued Ronning. “By helping software publishers and authors deliver their products to multiple e-commerce channels through an established software library, we can help them generate greater market exposure for their products. At the same time, we can help the channel partners open new revenue streams by providing them access to a ready-made software library that they resell online, quickly expanding their online product selections and ultimately generating traffic and sales for their e-commerce stores.”

To cater to its customer base, Computerworld's site will be built to reflect the content publishers' unique brand. Greeted by a familiar site design, customers visiting the site will be able to browse through an online library of TBYB software titles and download free trialware software programs for a limited time period with the option to purchase them at a later date. Digital River will not only host the site and provide access to its trialware software library, but also handle payment processing, fraud, customer service, reporting and digital downloads for the e-commerce site.

“As The Voice of IT Management, we have a large, highly loyal reader base, making Computerworld.com the largest and most sought-out enterprise IT destination online for IT managers,” said Rick Broughton, CIO and vice president of online for Computerworld. “Partnering with Digital River to offer a TBYB software library is just the latest example of how we are continually enhancing the site to meet our users' needs. This partnership also allows us to continue diversifying our online revenue streams.”
