Round Rock, Texas, January 22, 2004 - Genesis Microchip Inc. (Nasdaq: GNSS) has been named Dell's primary provider for flat panel image display controllers, consolidating the product supply base to help increase value and quality for Dell customers.

The announcement extends Dell's relationship with Genesis to include controllers-the technology that manages image and video quality-in flat panel displays and LCD TVs. Genesis, a leading global supplier of display image processors, previously supplied controllers for part of Dell's product line.

Anders Frisk, executive vice president of Genesis Microchip Inc., said, "Dell's continued selection of Genesis demonstrates its confidence in our ability to deliver image and video processing solutions that meet customers' expectations for high quality displays."

As part of the agreement, Genesis chipsets were included in the recently introduced Dell UltraSharpTM 1703FP, Dell UltraSharp 1901FP, Dell UltraSharp 2001FP, Dell E152FP and Dell E172FP flat panel displays, as well as the Dell W1700 17" LCD TV, Dell W2300 23" LCD TV and Dell W3000 30" LCD TV.
