HostReview had an opportunity to speak with Cameron Bahar, founder and CTO of cloud storage start-up ParaScale. In the interview, he discusses the market for cloud storage solutions, the current trends and the future of cloud computing, and much more.

Would you tell us a few words about yourself and your professional background? How long have you been involved in the cloud computing space?

HostReview very recently had an opportunity to speak with Mr. Horstmann, and asked him a few questions pertaining to his insights, and relevant to where our industry appears to be headed.

This week Rackspace Hosting unveiled a free online tool, which helps businesses estimate their carbon footprint. The carbon calculator takes into account all aspects of operation--commute, shipping, number of servers, etc. Developed in copperation with Native Energy--an international provider of carbon offsets and emission reductions, the service is the latest addition to Rackspace's Greenspace initiative, which promotes green technology in the data center and energy efficiency.

In this exclusive interview, we talk to David Preston, Marketing Development Manager of Awardspace.

Please tell us about yourself and your position in the company.
I am Marketing Development Manager for Awardspace.com and have been working for the company for over 2 years now. I am responsible for the marketing strategy of all services and work on the business development with close cooperation with our CEO Dimitar Dimitrov. Apart from my current position I also have 10 years of experience in the field of sales and marketing mainly in the field of online business.

Green in Kansas: a Q&A

1&1 Internet recently launched a new green data center in Lexena, Kansas. The new facility provides space for 40,000 servers and makes it possible to have equal latency for both the East and West coasts by being in the middle of major traffic areas. The company said Kansas City is one of the safest locations to have a data center because the risk of black/brownouts is minimal. 1&1 will also be purchasing purchasing Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs)to match the electricity used at the datacenter.

Interview with AIHSP Founding Comittee president Paul Hirsch
