In the coming days the team at HostReview is planning to open up a preview of the new,fully revamped HostReview web site, and to gather your valuable feedback. But before its launch, we wanted to give you a little more background on this move.

HostReview has provided insights on the hosting industry for over ten years, since its launch in 1998. As web hosting is a rapidly shifting technology and understanding all the types of web hosting services is not an easy task, now the website is being updated to respond to all these changes and to suit the visitors' expectations:

Completely Redesigned Home Page
By adopting up-to-date web design principles, tools, and features to suit the changing expectations of web visitors, the new home page offers a refreshing mix of easy-on-the-eye layout, intuitive navigation, and clean aesthetics.

Central Place for Editorial Content
The new home page organization allows users to quickly find recent news, industry analyses, interviews and updates. The "Feature Slideshow" panel serves as a quick access to the latest content: big stories we are following, a coverage of interest, interviews, and latest internet-related developments.

HostReview has been providing showcase listings with the leaders in specific web hosting sectors for nearly a decade. Traditionally, the website lists only the best and most prominent service providers, in order to serve as a dependable guide to hosting services. Currently there are 20 showcases, designed to cover the entire range of web hosting companies.

Search Hosting Plans
The revamped HostReview offers enhanced search capabilities and improved search functionality that make it easier for users to find the hosting plan that is the best fit for their personal or business needs. Search results are coupled with additional information such as hosting company profiles, user-generated reviews and ratings that will help users make an informed hosting decision.

User Reviews and Ratings
Now it is really very simple for users to review and rate hosting plans by 5 core criteria: Bandwidth & Space, Readibility & Uptime, Customer Service, Quality, and Price.

Company profiles
Completely new feature is the introduction of hosting company profiles, where along with company description, all other kinds of information associated with a respective company will appear under their profile: news, web hosting plans, reviews and ratings, awards, company experts' articles and interviews.

User Profiles
User Profiles are updated with picture, short description, RSS and posts by the author. The site’s “Sign In” section allows users to type in their specific account and then, to submit their own blog posts, news or hosting plans. Users may also browse their personal contributions finding information as statistics, publishing status, changes in their public profile on the site and so on.

HostReview Community
The community feature is a new addition to the site. It gives our contributors the opportunity to be featured on the home page.

The new site also offers a simple and user-friendly way for you, our readers, to provide your own viewpoint and spread the word about things that interest you. In other words, we have set up prominent RSS feed, commenting and social bookmarking functionalities.
