HostReview Gets a Major Makeover; Beta Version of the Web Site Open to the Public

The team at HostReview is proud to announce the opening of beta version of the fully redesigned web site to the public. We believe that the new format of presenting content and interacting with you, our readers, will create a more vibrant online community, dedicated to web hosting and internet technology issues.

As a web site with over 10 years of history, the new site retains its core value of independent, credible resource for hosting industry insights while adopting contemporary web design principles, tools, and features. The new site provides support and information to answer the most common questions about web hosting industry as a whole, the companies taking leading places in the hosting industry, and hosting breakthrough technology.

With the release of the public beta, we'd really like to get some community feedback on the new site. We encourage you to experience the new website for yourself, and if you notice something that doesn't seem to be working right, have suggestions for improvement, or just like to share your opinion on the changes, please let us know at editor@devstart.com.

In the beta phase, readers can continue to visit the old version of the website at www.hostreview.com for breaking news and updates. They can click on the 'Beta HostReview' link at the top-right corner of the site to go to the new version. Both websites will have content from the feature sections.

Completely Redesigned Home Page
By adopting up-to-date web design principles, tools, and features to suit the changing expectations of web visitors, the new home page offers a refreshing mix of easy-on-the-eye layout, intuitive navigation, and clean aesthetics.

Central Place for Editorial Content
The new home page organization allows users to quickly find recent news, industry analyses, interviews and updates. The Feature Slideshow" panel serves as a quick access to the latest content: big stories we are following, a coverage of interest, interviews, and latest internet-related developments.

Featured Blogs Section
In this section a special emphasis is put on featuring unique insights from industry experts; tips and ideas on finding the best hosting deals; timely and informative blog posts; and, of course, the scoop on the latest developments in the internet tech sphere.

News Section
Traditionally, HostReview offers an extensive selection of recent industry news and important events.

Interview Section
The Interview section collects exclusive Q&As with the web hosting industry experts.

HostReview has been providing showcase listings with the leaders in specific web hosting sectors for nearly a decade. Traditionally, the website lists only the best and most prominent service providers, in order to serve as a dependable guide to hosting services. Currently there are 20 showcases, designed to cover the entire range of web hosting companies.

Search Hosting Plans
In order to make it easier for users to find the hosting plan that is the best fit for their personal or business needs, the revamped HostReview offers enhanced search capabilities and improved search functionality. Search results are coupled with additional information such as hosting company profiles, user-generated reviews and ratings.

User Reviews and Ratings
Now it is really very simple for users to review and rate hosting plans by 5 core criteria: Bandwidth & Space, Readibility & Uptime, Customer Service, Quality, and Price.

Company profiles
Completely new feature is the introduction of hosting companies. On their company profiles, along with detailed company description, all other kinds of information associated with a respective company will appear: news, web hosting plans, reviews and ratings, awards, company experts' articles and interviews.

User Profiles
User Profiles are updated with picture, short description, RSS and posts by author. The site’s “Sign In” section allows users to type in their specific account and then, to submit their own blog posts, news or hosting plans. Users may also browse their personal contributions finding information as statistics, publishing status, changes in their public profile on the site and so on.

HostReview Community
The community feature is a new addition to the site. It gives our contributors the opportunity to be featured on the home page.
