The recent times have witnessed increasing competition among the
various web browsers for the top spot. We b browsers are the ultimate
means for users to access and surf the internet and therefore account
for a major amount of user interaction on the computers.
Microsoft's Internet Explorer or IE as it is fondly called was a
ruler of the cyberspace until it was challenged by new age versions of
Firefox and Safari. With the browser competition heating up, each one
of them are including more unique features and trying to use the
minimum of system resources. Here is some information about some
popular browsers and how good they are:
Internet Explorer 8
The latest version of the Internet Explorer, IE 8 includes a slew of
new age features and is in total compliance with the web standards as
well. Here are some of its unique features:
Web Slices This enables developers to mark areas of their
websites to update on a tab. However, it is still not supported by
other browsers.
Activities The right click menu contains more actions like
'Share on Facebook', 'Share on Flickr' etc. that serve to enrich the
browsing experience.
Better Crash Handling All the browser windows or tabs are
handles by separate Windows processes. This ensures that even if one of
the tabs crashes, it doesn't effect the rest of them nor close the
browser window altogether.
Security Arrangements There is an exclusive Security
pull-down menu on the IE toolbar that offers a range of security
options that ensure a safe browsing experience. Moreover it also sports
an anti-malware that blocks any threats and displays on-screen warnings.
Private Browsing Users also have an option to browse
privately and make sure the web pages they visit are not cached and and
no cookies will be stored and history or passwords aren't updated.
Google Chrome
This browser is characterized, as Google itself, for its simple and
minimalist design. However, it comes loaded with some advanced
technologies and features.
Speed This is one of the winning points of Chrome. The
browser works with lightening speed and at the same time is highly
secure as well.
Simple Design Chrome is uncluttered and that enhances its
usability to a great extent. Unlike the tools and buttons of other
browsers, Chrome has a set of handy controls that serve multiple
purposes.
Thumbnails It provides you with thumbnail images of your
favorite websites every time you open a new tab that gives you quicker
access to your favorite pages from any new tab.
Drag & Drop Chrome allows users to drag browser tabs to the desktops of their computers so they become separate browser windows.
Mozilla Firefox 3.5
The latest version of Firefox, the 3.5 version contains a range of
new age features and major improvements over its predecessors.
Private Browsing It keeps up with its competitors and
offers its users a Private browsing mode. But what really makes it
stand apart is its ability to to close down all the open pages when
private browsing is started and restores them with regular browsing is
turned on.
Geographic Location Firefox 3.5 informs websites about
your geographic location by using your IP address and the nearest Wi-Fi
connectivity or mobile networks.
Here are the several features of all of them. Do check them out
yourself before you decide what browser would be the best for you! |
